Run a scan with your anti-virus of choice. If it doesn't find anything, download and try malware bytes or avast.

It looks like antivirus software may be the problem according to a quick google search. DId you recently install AVG or some other program?

Restart your computer if you have not yet. See what it does.

That's if you have windows. If it is a mac, then you'll probably have to purchase norton or mcaffee.

Please, for the sake of all things holy, do not purchase anything from AVG. The program will tank your windows install, then they'll want to charge you $250/hr for "professional services" to repair it for you.(personal experience)

Go to control panel, and into the add/delete programs. It will list programs on your computer. If you can sort by date that may help. Look to see if any program has been added about the time the issue started. I really doubt you find anything but you never know. If suspicious delete it. And reboot. Just dont delete anything operational.

You should run the scan in safe mode. How to get into it depends on what Operating Sytem you have though. Update that and someone will give you directions for safe mode I am sure.

Sailor, if you don't have an anti-virus installed, you need to go buy one. The free ones are c r a p from my experience. Best Buy was (may have changed now) recommending Webroot and I have that running behind the scene. Seems to work fine, but it won't catch everything...nothing will. Webroot does protect by telling you if a website is safe or not, such as you'd find under a google search.

With that said, I also downloaded Malwarebytes (free version) which is now a trial version. This has caught some things anti-virus software won't.
