Hand Corn Tactics

I know there are a ton of searchable threads on the subject. Thought I'd start some more discussion.

What are your hand Corning tactics? Do you sneak in at night? In the heat of the day? Approach from a certain direction? Thoughts in general?

I hand corned one spot before, I was sitting in my couch and decided I want to put corn out there so I did. Next day deer in cam worked out until I put up a feeder, now they are barely coming back to feed.

I go whenever and drive straight up there on my 4 wheeler. I try to do it mid day but if I need to I'll go later in the evening. The place is on a farm and the deer are used to atvs and machinery.

Edit: when hunting, I just take an old folgers can and toss it out before hunting.

Exactly, I had no tactics to hand corn and I had deer everyday day not spooked. Until I put a feeder in the spot and they were gone.

Feeder at about 30 yards. Hand corn at 15. Kill deer at 15.

I try to go in Thursday of Friday evenings and put a bag on the ground. I also bring in a coffee can of corn when I walk in incase the hogs have come in and ate the bag I put out. I have dumped 40# on a Friday night and Saturday morning it was all gone

I like to corn 3 spots in the middle of the afternoon the day before with cameras at each spot.
Then I build a brush blind 40 yards down wind mid day the next day-mid day on the spot with the best pics. then hunt it that afternoon

Crown royal bag is the key component. The big one

Put 100# on ground every 3-5 days. Spray with vanilla. Wait for proper wind on day 2 or 3. Hunt without walking near the corn pile. Don't worry if there is no corn on the ground when you get there. The deer will still walk through to check the spot.

If I lived close to where I hunt I would go out twice a week and hand corn a trail where I had a stand that would be optimal. That is not the case however (two hours away) so I just toss some in my shooting lanes before I climb up or get in the blind

I only corn when i plan to hunt.
Small back pack with about 10 lbs if i get there the night before i plan to hunt i walk in and dump it. If it needs more after the morning hunt i carry more for the afternoon.
