I've heard mixed reports. I think close to town there are still decent numbers, including whitewing. Once you get past that, numbers have thinned out, apparently. -

U need to go 55 miles north of abilene up to haskell. I limited out yesterday. I've also never missed so many shots in my life. Another buddy of mine got 11. And a friend who's never shot got 5. I'm in Hawley about 15 miles north of Abilene. Our birds have been really hit or miss based on the weather. Storms keep pushing bunches out, then bringing new ones in. Last year it was birds everywhere, until about the third week, then nothing. This year, we haven't had consistent birds yet. I'm hoping the best is yet to come. Hunted Saturday a.m. and p.m., and me and my buddy managed 4 apiece in the morning and another 4 apiece in the afternoon, but that's all. Just not enough birds to shoot at to get a limit.Comment
