First Time Looking For a Lease

Holy cow, I never realized this is such a difficult task! I'm sure it all has to do with my dollar amount and wanting full access for a full year, plus not knowing anyone close. But good grief what a beating! If anyone could guide me in the right direction...

    Here's what I would "like":
    >/= $1500 for 2 hunters (me and my cousin, family friendly)
    Full year access
Deer, hogs, maybe turkey, dove, predators
    60+ acres if possible
    <4 hrs from DFW metro

I have hit up every Craigslist and classified post I could find.

My brain starts hurting when I spend so much time digging...

I would like total, and that's probably my biggest hang-up. This close to deer season, it seems like everything's been scooped up. Or, $1500 with friend/family allowed....

check city/county chamber of commerce websites for areas you would like to hunt. a lot of them have a section for hunting listings.

Good idea, I've come across a couple, but, hadn't checked into more. Thanks for the idea!

There's a lease advertised in the classifieds for Haskell county. It's less than 3 hours from Ft Worth. And it would only be for 1 year (land for sale). But it's a place to hunt. And with 3 people on 900 acres you probably won't have a problem shooting deer. Kicker is its $2250. But might be worth it. You and your cousin pay $1125 each. Allowed a trophy, cull, and does. And should have dove turkey etc. I can probably guarantee you'll have better all around hunting on 900 shared acres than 60 acres. Just a thought. Especially when targeting turkey. If that's important.

Good luck! Many would love to have what you are looking for, few find it!

I went through the same thing. Thought I had a deal and then it got leased out from under me. I finally found one on the Facebook page Texas Deer and Hunting Leases. Good Luck!
