    Atascosa Blind window problem/issue????????????

We have 8 of these blinds(4 bow and 4 gun) and evidently the window latches that were used tend to break very easily from wind pushing on them after they age some, windows will fall out, and owls take over. I called and they do have replacement latches, but they are $4 each and I would need 224 latches(56 windows) that need/should to be replaced. Anyone that have these blinds figured out a cheaper way to fix the issue???

These are the latches that you pull in on each side, slide then release to lock in place.

    Thanks

Not sure if it will work on your blind or not, but we had a blind that had cheap latches and decides to do away with the latches and get a 2" wide piece of rubber to drill into your blind and then on the bottom piece of rubber bolt the plexiglass to it, then we ran a rope on the inside that opens window up and down quietly.

These are glass windows, just like ones in a home only smaller, so I don't think that would work. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Man, that is rough. Seems like they would eat the cost given your past purchases (heck, even if you bought them used). I have TWS Monster blinds with similar (as described) windows. I can't think of a DIY fix without looking more closely at the windows but think you may have to buy replacements. I would at least see if they would sell them to you at cost (if not now).

Someone bought the company, and these were used by the previous owners. I had hoped the replacement parts wouldn't be so expensive. I have been surfing the internet look to find some in bulk, but not luck yet. They didn't offer any reduced pricing. That could have been his cost, but when I started counting how many I needed!

First place to start is swisco.com
I bought a bunch of the parts here (rubber glazing, corners and the latches)

I have another poor boy fix that my dad did with JB weld and a screw.
              I can get pictures later.

I just fixed mine so I don't know how long the poor boy fix will work

But I wanted to reply before I forgot

Thanks for that link! Their prices will save me 50-75%! Now if I can figure out which latch is mine....

Here is the poor boy version. My dad put a drywall screw in where it broke. Cut the head off the screw. Then made the stud out of JB weld. And ground it to shape once it dried.

Now I am not sure how well this worked. I just put the blind back up a couple weekends ago, and didn't look at the windows. We just fixed these over the summer. So this could be a waste of time.....

Most times I'm a big DIY, but not sure if I ever want to clean out another owl blind! I think I might just replace them. Who knows though, it might be stronger. That was the number I was thinking it looked like, but wasn't sure. I'll verify this weekend, since we are going out to try and get the odor out those blinds. Thanks again.

If you haven't removed them, they are simple to get out. there are videos on the web.
Simply just get a small screw driver or punch. Push in the spring retainer, and slide out

I figured while I was replacing, I got the springs too. Not that you would need that

Oh and don't expect them all to be the same. I had at least 2 versions in the windows in the blind I purchased from Lucky13

These are the same as what I have, but the 91-001 seems to be a little different on the tab part that breaks. 91-001 has tab and the bottom and the faulty one has tab in the middle. Is the 91-001 what you used to replace the one in picture? Did the windows still close all the way?
