You guys crack me up with the Houston = Overrated.
They beat Fl St soundly in a bowl game at the end of the year, thump Oklahoma, keep Lamar from not crossing the 50 and less than 80 yds of offense, and just beat Cinci on a very short week in Cinci with two of their major players hurt.

I don't think they are overrated. Nor, do many teams want to play them. Remember when the Miami Hurricanes built that fence around the Miami area. Herman is doing the same thing in Houston. And, it shows. This isn't some gimmicky offense like previous Houston teams or Boise St. It is real and so is the defense.

Houston is no doubt a good team. As a TCU fan, I've been on both sides of this scenario and this was always the biggest question for me. If you give GP a month, or an offseason to prepare for one game then I will take my chances everytime(i.e.-Rose Bowl, etc). This appears to me as where Hermann is in his young career. Now can Houston line up every week and continue to win at this pace and compete on a weekly basis vs quality opponents? We will never know until they play in a different conference. It's always an adjustment. TCU had two pretty bad years when they entered the Big 12. And they had a top 5 defense in the country. They would have rolled through the conferences they were playing in previously. Hermann certainly has them on the right track but it's still a small sample size. But he is definitely locking Houston down!

I believe a lot of it comes down to roster depth. UH is very similar to the TCU situation pre-Big 12. Talented team, but lacks the depth to take on a full P5 conference schedule. TCU saw that when they entered the Big 12, but recovered after having the P5 label come recruiting time. If UH were invited into the Big 12, they too probably would have a down year or 2.

But regardless, UH didn't sneak up on OU. They came off that Peach Bowl victory and OU had several months to prepare. Everyone knew that UH team was salty and Herman was going all in.

Sounds like a blast. The Giants are also in town playing the Cardinals. Enjoy that nice weather out there and watch out for the crazies in Bezerkley

After the flight issues, long line at the rental car, and crazy parking on the square in Oxford we had lunch.

                            Fried Crawfish Salad

                            The famous Shrimp and Grits

And for dessert we hit up Insomnia Cookies
