    Bow hunting Binos

Hello to all you Texas bow hunters out there, I'm currently in the market for a new set of binoculars for the bow hunting woods. I am a college student with minimal funds so the mavens and the like are out of the question. I'm looking for a quality set for the price point of around 130-160 dollars. I'm looking for 8x42 or 10x42's. Thanks for all your guys help!!

Diamondbacks should be more than adequate. Mine got pounded on my Mountain goat hunt.......zero issues!!!

I use vortex monocular, just smaller to carry, and yeah you lose FOV, but I'm still steady enough to aim it where I want to look

I bought some Minox BV2 8x25mm BR binoculars specifically for bowhunting and turkey hunting. I paid $129.00 for them and really like them.

Which one did you get, I assume they have more then one model?

A monocular would be better for me since I can't see out of my left eye anyway so any Bino's are really a monocular for me.

I love my Nikon Travelite. I was given a pair over 15 years ago. They are light and compact, but really good. Since they were really starting to show signs of wear and tear, I recently bought a backup pair off of ebay for 30 something bucks. New they are around $100

Vortex Diamondback 10x42 typically run about $240c The Crossfire should fall in your budget. Check with Arrowsmith on here for pricing though. He will take care of you.

But for Bowhunting distances you would be better served with 8x42 IMO.

Vortex Crossfire, $169 on amazon. My son got me pair for my birthday a couple years ago. I think the Crossfires are one level above the Diamondbacks. Honestly, after trying and hunting with borrowed Swarovski's nothing else comes close especially in the first and last 15 minutes. But the Vortex are nice.

I recently bought a Badlands bino case and it is great, I'd recommend you look at it to hold them. I can keep my laser range finder and a bottle of wind smoke on the elastic cords in the bottom, and the Crossfires on top. It also has pouch that unzips in the rear for a small hydration bladder- I really like it and I didn't know it came with it until I got it home.

hit up arrowsmith, here's a link to his profile

he got it shipped directly to me

I'd probably go with a 10x36 now...I like the 10x25, but the 10x36 should allow more light in and have a brighter image. the 25 is great, it's always in my truck, it's just so easy to get out and use.

                              here's a link to the 10x36
