    Bug ID

New member to the site, but have lurked for some time. Found this guy in the kitchen this morning and thought the green screen would be the place to go. Any ideas what it is?

Insect is 1"-1.5" long and the jar is a half pint jar, so maybe 2" across the bottom. Not a regular stinging scorpion, we see plenty of those. This guy is the first one of these I've ever seen.

After looking at google, I agree it's a wind scorpion. Thanks for the help guys!

8 legs make it an arachnid. You have a sun spider, some call it a wind scorpion, it's actually not a spider or scorpion, but a solifugae. It's not venomous, but the bite still hurts.

Why do I always start itching when I open a bug thread?

                        Welcome to the fire criddle.

I thought a camel spider was huge?

It's known as a camel spider too

Don't know why, but odd bugs have always fascinated me
