In for this as well. I think fuel to Wyo. would be the biggest ticket item.

We are going to North Texas, stay in my camper, permits are $500.00 each. Should be less than $1000.00 per man.

Man I would love to do this as well. Im not big on someone holding my hand on a hunt. I want to get down and dirty and get one all on my own!

I've been looking into Colorado DIY OTC and depending on lodging and food choice I think it could easily be done for under 1k. I went last year on a private ranch and blew a couple of good opportunities and I have the bug bad!

Where you want to go is a big factor. Texas its all private land pretty much. Land owners have to apply to TPWD for tags and hopefully have them issued if counts say numbers are high enough. A few counties up in the panhandle are doing an experimental over the counter tag but you still need land owner permission to hunt and you have to check them in with TPWD if you get one.

Is there a way to find out what LO's have tags?
