Anbody use a Chef's Choice knife sharpener?

I've got various stones, steels, sticks, cardboard wheels, etc to sharpen knives with but I want to get a sharpener my wife can use. I've heard good things about the Chef's Choice electric. Anybody use one? Which model?

Not sure of the model number as it isn't mine, but I've borrowed my parents Chef Choice a few times with very good results. Theirs is one that will handle serrated blades as well. My $.02 is that is does an exceptional job on normal blades, and a good job on serrated blades. I sharpen my hunting knives with a stone, but assume it would be just as effective on those. Hope this helps.

Got one for the wife several years ago hopeing it would get me out having to do all her kitchen knives by hand on an Arkansaw stone. So much for that we are back to doing them by hand. If your knives are really dull it will make them a little better but not what I would call sharp.

One I use now for both hunting and cooking knives. Swear by it and it is not only inexpensive but the Santuko knife is a mainstay in my kitchen now.

I have one and it does great on my thin kitchen knives but it is horrible on my thicker hunting knives.

I've been using one for almost 11 years. It's getting a little tired, but for the first 10 years it put a nice, long lasting edge on all my knives. I can't speak for the serrated, I don't really use any.

Team Roper.. Your doing something wrong. I have a model 120. If you get that burred edge like they say to do, the final step will make any knife scarey sharpe.
