    Keeping snakes away

I put my popup on the ground, besides building a platform is there a way to keep the snakes out of it? Will pouring that snake away stuff all the way around it work? I've heard the old rope thing but not sure about that.

Use a big rope.... The little strands from a good used rope irritate the skin. Similar to how hay irritates humans but worse for them.

Bury the edges and keep it closed up when you are not in it and you'll be fine.

Interesting. I'm about to put my blind up. So, I just need to put rope around or bury the sides/ edges? What about moth balls?

Mothballs. Keeps wasp/spiders out also. Deer get use to the smell but I do this for gun hunting, 100 yds+ to the feeder. Not sure how close you're talking about.

              Moth balls also repel deer

Not at 100 yds. Been using year round & deer get use to it. I wouldn't try it at bow range, it probably would spook them.

Make big circle around blind with Dawn soap it should bubble up when it rains and burn their eyes when they cross it.

The rope trick, horse hair or otherwise is an old myth.

I'd be more inclined to try the rope before moth balls since my setup is only about 20-25 yards away from the feeder.

                          Will snakes cross ashes?
Or is that just for bugs and spiders?
