Purpose
Responsible for providing mechanical maintenance support to manage the daily and outage related maintenance activities that will ensure efficient and cost effective facility operations with compliance to all safety and environmental regulations.

Job Function
Essential Functions:
Performs preventive, predictive and repair maintenance work tasks on plant equipment to include inspections, overhauls and troubleshooting within a team environment, gives direction to and follows direction from other Technicians performing these tasks.
Installs new and modifies existing plant equipment, components, piping, structural and civil systems.
Participates in the ongoing development of the plant planned maintenance program; researches and collects equipment data, instructions and spare parts information and develops maintenance procedures and instructions.
Operates, controls and monitors power generation, ZLDS, auxiliary and balance of plant equipment and systems, and support other technicians performing these tasks. Shift work may be required.
Operates plant vehicles and rolling stock to include fork lifts and man-lifts.
Directs, oversees and/or supports third party contract services as assigned.
Cross trains (OJT) to develop a fundamental knowledge of plant operations; performs operating tasks and periodically works the rotating shift schedule as a member of the operating shift crew.
Performs housekeeping and plant appearance betterment tasks to include buildings and grounds.
Complies with all operating and maintenance procedures.
Acts as a team member with all employees of ENGIE staff.
Complies with all ENGIE policies and procedures.
Other Functions
Carries out other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Five years prior “hands on” work experience performing mechanical maintenance at an industrial facility. Prior CCGT power plant experience is desirable.
Demonstrated mechanical craft skills to include proficiency with hand, power, shop, and precision measurement tools, and lifting equipment and rigging.
Prior experience in determining job task requirements to include parts/materials/tooling and developing technical scope/specifications for outside contract/shop services.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic PC user knowledge/skills.
Basic knowledge/awareness of industrial safe work practices, hazardous energy control and proper material handling.
Working knowledge of CMMS. Familiarity with Maximo is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Word and Outlook.
Valid driver's license required.
Hands-on familiarity with power plant operations, production, or maintenance environment.
Ability to respond to plant emergencies/call-ins (day or night) holiday, weekend.
Ability to work rotating 12 hour shifts involving weekends, holidays, backshifts, on-call and overtime.
Must possess a high degree of initiative and judgment.
Must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
Good verbal and written communications skills are essential.
Capable of frequently standing; walking; balancing, sitting; climbing (ladders, stairs, ramps, catwalks, stacks and the like as required); stooping; squatting; crouching; crawling; kneeling; reaching; grasping; pushing; pulling; lifting (min. 70lbs); feeling; talking and hearing.
Capable of performing repetitive motions as required.
Required to have eyesight corrected at 20/40 to accurately read and interpret such as but not limited to instruments, gauges, and manuals.
Must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed areas, pipes and the like) as required.
Must be physically capable of performing demanding work at various heights and in adverse conditions during operations, shutdowns, and in fire/emergency activities.
Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full face respirators, fall protection equipment, hardhat, safety shoes, safety glasses etc.
Ability to pass a respirator physical and respirator fit test (if applicable).
Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
Education/Experience
High School diploma, trade school, military service or technical school training.

Job Function
Essential Functions:
Operates, controls and monitors power generation, ZDP, auxiliary and balance of plant equipment and systems, and supports other technicians performing these tasks.
Performs mechanical, I&C, electrical and general maintenance and plant improvement tasks including installation, modification, inspection, repair and troubleshooting. Supports other technicians performing these tasks.
Knows the status of plant operations and reports abnormal conditions to a plant supervisor or manager. Gives complete and accurate turnovers of plant/equipment status and work in progress to incoming personnel.
Follows a work schedule determined by a plant supervisor or manager and responds to call out and coverage requests during non-scheduled work hours.
Completes required training, participates in the development of training content and materials, and provides on-the-job training to others in area(s) of proficiency.
Understands and complies with issued Company and plant policies, procedures and instructions, and otherwise acts to accomplish maximum commercial return and equipment availability and reliability in a safe and efficient manner with no adverse environmental impact. Participates in the development of procedures and instructions.
Completes and maintains accurate logs and records which document plant status, equipment operating data, operational events, maintenance activities and equipment maintenance history.
Within a team environment, gives direction to other technicians and follows directions from other technicians as assigned by a plant supervisor or manager. Maintains radio contact with, and communicates/coordinates work activities with affected plant personnel.
Unloads, transfers and otherwise handles bulk chemicals and fluids. Takes samples for analysis. Performs wet chemistry testing and analysis, and completes/maintains accurate logs.
Participates in work permitting and the issuance/maintenance of Clearances.
Directs, oversees and/or supports work by third parties as assigned.

Works to establish and maintain facility certification under ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

Requirements
Five years prior work experience performing operations and/or maintenance in an industrial process facility, or the equivalent formal education and training such as completion of a university or associates degree program plus one year of prior work experience. Prior work experience in a power generation and/or water treatment plant is preferred.
Fundamental knowledge of CCGT power plant and/or ZDP operations roles and duties.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to participate in the development of written procedures and instructions.
Basic user skills with PC’s for information processing and management.
Basic knowledge/awareness of industrial safe work practices and material handling/disposal practices that prevent adverse impact to the environment. Prior experience with hazardous energy control is desirable.
Valid driver's license and must be insurable by company's vehicle insurance carrier.

Lol. I dont have the experience. Even if I did, I dont think I am ready to live that far from my parents, mainly my Dad. We are best friends, not sure who it would be harder on lol. This is a dang good opportunity for someone.
