This is what I did in Menard county, I took the time to slice them up a little and that worked well when the does came in.

I have seen two does fight over watermelon and old bread.

Sugar beets, carrots and watermelon work best by me.

            Peanut butter...... Can't go wrong

My son and I hunted in Brackettville this past January, and baiting the deer was allowed. We used apples, and we cut them up and stomped on some of the pieces to help put the smell of them in the air. The deer weren't even remotely interested in them. We were told the best bait was chaff hay (Alfalfa hay sprayed with molasses).

                Regards,

                Dave

                  When I used rice bran

Had to dig dirt and haul off before the deer and turkey came back.

                    Foxes love them. Pears too.

If that stuff gets wet, it ferments and smells terrible.

Apples will bring in hogs from two counties over. I hate hogs!

Thanks for the tip ! I think I will put some out way on the other end of the lease. That way, those bastages that frown on me killing all the hogs I can will have some pets.
