Ever use grass mats to brush-in a deer blind?

I see that for about $50 you can buy four 48"x60" woven grass mats. I'm sure many of you use them for duck blinds (that's what they are made for) but I'm wondering how they would work for brushing-in a deer blind on the ground. Has anyone tried it?

Sun and weather wears them out quickly. they will not last long at least the ones I bought at Academy.

I had the same issue with them deteriorating (lasted most of the season) and cows chomping on them. I wonder if you could spray them with a sealer of some sort??

The ones I am looking at are made by Avery and supposedly they hold up pretty well - at least according to the reviews. I didn't think about the cows though - would have to do something about that...

You can find used Christmas trees for dirt cheap, sometimes for free. They work good for brush, but the cows seem to like them also.

This type is the most durable I have seen. Way more durable than the cap academy sells.

Used them in Kansas with great results. Be worried about cattle trying to eat them though.
