    A hero is lost.

At 90 years old my grandpa died Sunday morning at 3:39 am. This man fought for almost the entire WWII. It's kinda funny thinking back when I was a child and hearing his stories. Most of the details he would leave out. He felt remorse for all he had done. He said he ran alongside tanks fighting the entire length of checoslavakia, or how ever you spell that. He pushed on the Siegfried lines, fought across France. We don't have many of these guys around anymore. Instead of mourning his death, I spent most the time these two days honoring his life. At 90 years old, I think he had a full life. I just wish I'd made more time in my adult life for him. It's easy to say your too busy to drop by. It's impossible to drop by when they're gone.

Sorry for your loss, I'm so glad men like him and many more like him sacrificed for our Great Country. He sounded like a great man.

Loss hurts. And it does get better. I have done 4 in 10 months. Father, Twin Brother, and best friend. 2016 has been ugly.
                It does get better.................

I've spent a lot of my adult life making money, and i'd give it ALL up for one more cup of coffee with my granddad.

Like mine, your's lived a great and long life. Mine too fought across Europe and like yours, mine left out lots of details. I miss mine everyday and you will too. Here's to the Greatest Generation and may God hold them close.

Man I'm sorry for your loss. My grandad was also part of that greatest generation and he was like a father to me really. He would tell stories about his time in Germany and France and he stormed the beaches of Anzio. You don't hear much about that invasion and it wasnt something he talked about alot. So many great men that are passing on. I will see mine again and I cannot wait

Sorry for your loss. He sounds like a great man. You are right about not being so busy. We are burying an Aunt tomorrow that I wished I had spent more time with.
