Putting a feeder under a powerline?

Has anyone ever put a feeder under a powerline? There's a great area on my lease for a feeder but it's directly under the power lines. Is this a problem? Dangerous? Will the electric company have a problem with it?

    Thank you.

Read the easement, they usually say no permanent structures under a line so you should be good. I wouldn't put a 15' tripod under on but wouldn't worry about being in a tree on the edge of the right of way

This will be my 4th year to have a feeder under powerlines. My place is pretty thick...and the deer travel the powerlines. It's my place, so if I wanna hunt a feeder under the lines...well, it's my land.

It's a good place to hunt on our place. The power company comes in and sprays mesquites every couple years as well to make the spot even better.

I've had a pipe feeder on a power line pole and a box stand on the edge of a power line element for 20 years now. They keep it nicely mowed for me!

              LWD,

When I first got on the ranch I currently hunt 12 yeast ago, I put my first blind along the power line that had an arroyo running parallel to it...the senior members asked my why I picked that spot & like you simply thought it was a great area. They said it would have too much traffic being right next to the main road. (like the animals are checking the map or something)

It soon became the favorite spot & more game has been killed from that blind that all the others combined...you can always get there if it's raining and the set up with they water way criss-crossing the area was a no brainer to me. I honestly never even considered the shooting lanes with this major power line even being a deterrent.

I have a tripod feeder under one at the house and set up in the tree line next it. Power company said no permanent structure with in 15' when I build my shop next to the same line and they came out to survey it for a meter pole and transformer.
I also hunt another line right of way at my other land that I had to brush hog last year since hey didn't maintain it. I attached a PVC gravity feeder to the pole. Both spots have lots of activity.

I have been hunting a powerline for 20 years. We keep it mowed so they never come out there. I did put up a tower blind and when you touch metal on the gun it would shock you. Moved blind and went back to a ground blind.

Every power line that runs through leased land in East Texas has a feeder under it somewhere

Did it on a lease years ago. Shot my biggest buck ever.

Has anyone ever had any issues with static electricity messing with their feeder motor/timer? I had a metal tripod under our power lines and got shocked every time i touched the metal. I always worried it would mess with motor/timer.

We have both a gas line and electrical line easements on our place. We put the stands against the edge of the right of way and the feeders either on the edges or setback a bit with some chainsaw work. No issues with either utility company and they're the best hunting spots on the property.
