Information on having a pond dug

I am looking at some land by Luling Tx an would like to have about a 1 acre pond put On the property.I know zero about what all is involved ,going rates,etc. etc.I could use some help or suggestions on this.The land is pretty much all wooded.

soil type is very important. It is good to have a test hole dug to see if you have the soil type that will hold water.
