School me on slide outs 98 Keystone Sprinter

I have been given a travel trailer for free..but it's been lived in for 12 yrs and the slide out has not been slid in all that time.
I looked underneath and all the rails look good, just need to have rust buffed off and greased. It appears to be hydraulic driven .
So what all do I need to do before I try and get it to slide in.
Oh and if your around Baytown and want to help Fri, Sat let me know[emoji41]

If the hydraulic doesn't work can I disconnect and push it in ?

The one I have dealt with in my life that the hydraulics failed, I had to get a big wrench and screw it in. There was a big bolt on the bottom.

It should have a manual crank for the slide out. Make sure and clean the rails and grease well and it should slide in. the manual crank should be close to the hydraulic set up for the slide out.

Good fresh strong battery and pray. Go slow and make sure it doesn't "bind" anywhere while sliding.

If it doesn't budge there should be a manual crank devise that you can use to hand crank it. That's a lot of fun!!

Make sure to clean off the top of the slide out all kinds of crap will be up there. Also clean all the slide seals before you retract it.

Wouldn't hurt to treat the seals around the slide.

Camping World also sells a slide seal spray.

you may also need to push the button twice....holding it the second time

If you hit the button and get nothing at all, check the ground. I had an issue with my keystone slide out once and I learned that the top three problems with them are 1) voltage 2) voltage and 3) voltage.
