    solar setup questions?

I have a couple 12v cat batteries, not familiar with battery terms but these have 1500 CCA (cold cranking amps), they are really big heavy.

If I was to set up a solar panel and use a power inverter what size stuff would I need to run off this kind of battery.

Basically all I really want to do is run a smallish fan and charge the kids ipads in the deer blind, maybe run a few small leds.

a small inverter should be good...more power you need, the shorter run time

CCA isn't going to matter for charging things. Look at the Ah (amp hour) rating. A battery with 12Ah reading can supply 12 amps for 1 hour. 24 amps for 30 minutes, or 6 amps for 2 hours.

Figure out the draw of what you want to charge, the input of your solar panel, and you can estimate the time that the battery will last. Lots of coverting from watts to amps.
