I am going to ask for a portable navigational unit for my truck for Christmas. I have only used one a year ago (Coach's) and I dont know much about them. I live in the sticks and sell real estate so I want one that works good outside of big cities. Thanks.

Have the TOM TOM and with it's traffic updates and the fact that you can update whenever you want is great - roads change daily around here...especially with construction. Buddy has a Garmin and it's good...mine is accurate even in the country. Went hunting out at a guys ranch and it took us right to his mailbox.

Tom Tom One. I've been happy with it, and I can get free road upgrades. It can be attached to an antenna and then pay for traffic updates, but if you're rural I don't think that's important. It also has the logging roads in the national forests if you need to drive there for hunting, as a plus.
