    shoe goo question

A real first-world problem here.I have a pair of Alpha Burley rubber boots and the soles are coming off. I was thinking about using shoo-goo to glue 'em back together but was wondering about the scent. I know they use adhesives to stick 'em together but I've never used the goo and didn't know how stinky it is. Anyone done this?

Shoe-goo isn't overly stinky. If you glue them and then allow them to sit and air out for a few days to a week, I don't think you will have any problems.

It's always been my opinion that a "new" smell wouldn't freak deer out, unless it is one they already associate with a predator (man).

I repaired my alpha burleys with the shoe goo. I really could not detect much of a smell and the deer did not fuss about it either. When the boots were new, that was another story. I left them outside under the back porch (out of direct sunlight) till the smell died off. The smell would gag a maggot when they were new.

Shoo goo will only temporarily fix them. Usually come apart at the worst time.

i agree with the shoo goo only being temporary i had a pair that were a year old come loose at the soles in several areas and glued back together 3 times and lacrosse will not do anything about the issue

Try E6000 glue, much better than Shoe Goo. You can get it at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

I had same problem with my Lacrosse boots. Used some NP1 and worked ok for a season. Think I might have slow leak now.

Shoe goo is a band aid at best
