    Bow Experts....chime in?

    OK...help me out....

I relocated to NC about 6 years ago....bTW....the hunting there BLOWS compared to Texas (but I digress). During those six years....I did NOT shoot my bow the entire time. (blasphemy I realize!).

Fast forward to current day.....I'm BACK! Just moved back and it's nearing bow season. Now....the bow was safe and sound in it's case basically for 6 years. It was a tack driver six years ago so I hate to screw with it....but....for safety reasons.....should I have it re-strung? Anything else I should have done? (buying a new bow isn't really an option but I like the way y'all think.)

Re string it...should shoot like it always did.

I have a friend that moved from SC and he talks about how much better the hunting is there compared to here...I usually giggle

I think I would restring it to be safe.

Was it well waxed while in the case? sure that will make a huge difference

The funniest thing I ever heard out there.....I joined a hunting club in SC...(they don't call them leases for some reason). They plant food plots and put out mineral licks, etc....but no feeders (which IS legal). When I asked WHY...they said the deer in SC are "too smart" to come to feeders. NO BS...that's what they said. For those guys...IF they SAW 'a' deer...it was a big deal.....let alone actually shoot one. I was "one and done" on that place.

I would re-string it to be safe. But really, if it was not stored in a high heat environment and was well waxed it is probably okay. Wildman has been shooting the same string on his bow since 1997, but he's special like that...
