Man you know how to make a man mash that skinny peddle on the right!

running WAY behind due to traffic and const.

                100 miles from Laf.

                  Forrest -

Be careful once you get on 90 out of Laf.

The drive between there and Houma can get mundane. I used to drive it all the time when I was working in Morgan City.

Watch out for cops, they can get bad between Morgan City and Houma.

Don't know if you plan on eating at Prejean's but Lafayette's is a very good restaurant off of Kaliste Saloom Rd.

I make that drive every 2 weeks now and sat for an hour an 20 mins Tuesday night between LC and Laf due to an 18 wheeler wreck, closed down all of I-10.

Still better than dealing with flying back and forth though.

Well we didn't make it Prejean's, not that we didn't want to!!! Just ran out of time with the traffic and construction on I-10. But, I did however have my first ever run in with a meat pie. And I have to say, I hope I meet up with another one soon!

Blake, it was great meeting you and shooting the bull for a little bit. Like I said as we went on our ways............. Next time it's Prejean's and it's on me!

my pleasure as well Forrest , glad to meet you

the meat pies we had were no ordinary meat pies

they are roughly 5"x8" , made of phyllo dough which is baked (flaky , pastry like outside)

Forrest had the peppered steak meat pie which cubed sirloin steak that is peppered and has a thick gravy filling

I went with the Cajun Chicken meat pie which is diced white breast meat and has a spicy etoufee'-like filling

they also have other meat pies ....

                            .... boudin
                            ....spinach and cheese
                            .... cornish pasty
                            ....shrimp
                            ....crawfish
                            ....cajun steak
                            ....chicken curry
                            ....apple pie filling
                            ....blueberry filling
                            ....cherry filling
                            .... and about 5 others I can't remember

best of all, you can get a large drink and meat pie for less than $5
