    String twist

I have a factory string that wont hold my peep in correct alignment without a tube attached to it. No problem, but it continues to rotate almost 180 degrees after the shot and peep and D-loop are now facing opposite direction. I know the answer is to replace the string with a quality one, and I have one ordered from 60X. In the meantime, are there any quick fixes that would at least be temporary? I drew the bow back and had someone twist and hold the peep while I slowly let it down and after doing this twice it was back in line, but after a couple of shots it was twisted back around again. No bow press so I cant take it off and add or subtract a twist. What about taking the tube loose and allowing the string to twist even farther and re-attaching the tube to encourage it to twist back towards its correct peep alignment. I guess this would be like removing one twist from the string. anybody got any ideas? Again, only temporary fix until I get new string and can get to a bow shop.

Turn your dloop inline with your peep.... It'll work temporarily if you don't have quick access to a press

What kind of bow? I've adjusted strings and cables on several without a press.

You put twists in a string without a press? Was the bow designed for that specific task?

They are aligned with each other, but both pointing almost backwards! Should I just realign my dloop and let the tube straighten out my peep when I draw?

You can do it on most bows in a pinch. You just preload the cam a little and block it. Theres plenty of examples on youtube. Heres one example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ta-PW-Fq12U

Lose the tube, let the string settle to where it wants to be and reposition the peep in the string

It could be the type of knot in the end loop, direction of serving, direction of twist under the serving compared to the unserved parts of the string, a worn out string. Not enough twists. The longer the string the more unstable
                It will be also

Your string stretched badly... You need to have some twists added to make it come back. It's really the only option to get it right IMO.

Either that or twist the crud out of it before you shoot and see if it brings it back...

To answer your question, the quick fix lies in this video. Just be careful and twist the string up.

For a quick fix. Split the string and remove the peep (easy to do while peep is installed), install it 180° to where it is now, re-attach rubber. Rotate D-loop to new side of string.
