    Pvc pipe tree feeders

Let's see some pics, and hear how well they work/ don't work. I want to try a couple as I'm tired of some of the traditional feeder set ups, but I worry about hogs destroying it. How high off the ground do you put the bottom of it? How do you secure it to the tree?

We got hogs about 2001-2002..... That was the end of pvc feeders. They destroyed them as fast as we could build them

How high did you have them, or did it not matter?

This but they sell a grate at Home Depot that fits right in the bottom and let's the water run out. This is the only pic I have of mine it's 4" I wish Home Depot had 6".

I have one i built a couple of years ago i use when trying out new spots. I hang it about waist high, fill with sweet feed and put a camera on it. Pigs and deer have eaten out of it. Like others said make sure to drill hole in the bottom of it to let the water out. I put up a regular feeder now so, If someone wants to come pick it up they could have the one i built. Its located in mont belvieu.

Yep, the only ones I ever used were torn up in short order. I'll be glad when somebody comes up with something to kill every last one of the stinking %<~|~^*£!!<

I have one. It's low to the ground and everything eats out of it.

The worst the hogs have done knocked it off the T post. Only happen once however. Most the time they just eat out of it and move on.

I also use the four-inch grate in the bottom of mine also and a screw in stopper on top

How are y'all attaching them? How does water get in if you have a cap on it (non screw in type) . What is the grate for?

Water comes in where they eat from the grate at the bottom allows the water to run out. I haven't had the hog problems like above but coons and squirrels will stay full.

Put this up on public land...4" pvc with wye and grate on bottom.
Around 6ft...doesn't hold as much as I'd have thought. ..just under 40#'s

When I used these type I would put a bucket on top holding it with l brackets and of course put a hole in the bottom of the bucket the size of the pipe. This allowed it to hold more corn.
