How far?

Got rest setup today on my boys bow & the draw length set on my daughters bow, I have to adjust the peep on her bow. But distance do y'all reccomend starting them out at? I have him shooting at 20 right now & he's keeping about a 10" group with trash arrows. Haven't made it to the shop to get them any yet.

10-20 is all I let my kiddo shoot at. She just turned 8.
If they can consistently hit the target, I don't see why you should hold them back. The further they practice, the better they'll be.
