    Arrow penetration technical info

    Just info.

Got a friend Rob Hummel. His gets deep into the technical side. He's been looking at the info from Dr ashby studys.

He's working on referance charts for looking at arrow penetration performance

What we know is K.e. Means nothing. We need to look at momentum for penatration. But momentum is only the mass and speed. Dosent take into account broadhead mech advantage or foc or even arrow diameter.

But there is away to do this. It's APF. This is arrow penetration factor.

This uses momentum, broadhead ma, if uses m/v for resistance. Arrow diameter and foc to get this APF total.

Here is just a little on what he has done.

Sorry can't get picture to load. I'll just explain it at lunch

How does a Chrysler Posi-trac work?

      It just does!

50 mph bowling ball vs. 100 mph baseball......way easier to understand and don't need pictures

I've killed hundreds of animals. Some of these posts make my head hurt especially the only the most aggressive foc weights and momentum are the only things that matter sentiment.

There are a hundred variables more important in a successful hunt not the least of these the confidence and skill of the hunter.

I think it matters to someone if they are planning to shoot something stupid big.
For deer and pigs it is just how deep into the ground do you want your arrow to go after it passes thru the deer

He probably first posted thinking he was on an actual bowhunting site and thought it might be interesting to some. He didn't realize that he was on facebook where you instantly get attcked by passersby who just have to post something.
