    Repellant questions.

Do any of you guys know of a repellant that will keep rats and gophers away from my popup without bothering the deer? We are literally covered in rats, field mice, and gophers and I really don't want my blind eaten by rodents before the season starts.

Rats and mice are horrible this year and they sure can be hard on a pop-up. I thought about putting an owl decoy above my blind or leaving out a couple of big rubber snakes. I just wonder how long it would keep them away before they figured it out.

You will have a snake problem soon with that many mice! In fact, you may want to catch a few rat snakes and let them loose.

The biggest issue is, we don't have a few rodents, we have millions, so I just need to keep them away from the blind. Starting to wish I'd bought a tower instead.

the prior 4 seasons on my lease, i couldn't tell a single vermin had even existed. this past season, i would see them daily walking to and from the blind. not house mice - field mice maybe ? anywho.... i had 5x5 square pieces of carpet in both my blinds, and, within 2 months of having blinds set up, literally every fiber of carpet was gone, leaving only the plastic stuff that holds it together. no nests anywhere to be seen, and, no carpet either.

i'm going to set up blinds next weekend, and was debating on what to do. i looked at lowes and tractor supply for rubber mats, but, still undecided. i like the carpet, but, don't want it destroyed either.

Go to lowes or home spot or your local feed store and by the rat bait poison that is the sticks that you just break apart and place around your blinds Them buggers love that stuff and will eliminate themselves by eating the bait also you can drill holes in them and screw to base of trees so they won't carry them away from the blind and that way you can monitor how much they are eating and need to replace them
