    I always said.......

Ive always said I'd never shoot a bear. Well, to be more precise, I said I had no problem with anyone harvesting one.... It just wasn't for me unless a hunt just fell into my lap for free. Guess what? Late Sept cow elk and bear did just that. I've hunted elk a lot in NM but never a black fuzz ball. Trinidad CO here I come in Sept 17-24. Anyone with any experience in the area?

We will be close to there. The ranch is just south of the lake. What broadhead would be your choice for both species? I'm leaning toward a G5 Montec 125, but again, I've no experience with bear.

You're a good ways East from my place, but I can tell you the bears have seemed more active this year from the last for me. They killed my chickens a few months back and I've seen them coming in and out of my property quite a bit. I had one come back 3 times in one night. I kept running him off but he kept coming back. My 7 year old daughter woke up the other day to a nice one ripping into a dead stump in the front yard eating bugs. I have a feeling they'll be really active this fall for us.

Just ordered my bow from pykiller. I got the Impulse 31. I went with Elite this time after losing my Heli um in a fire (loved it. Just wanted something else and the Mathews wasn't fireproof). Getting a lefty takes some time. Gonna be a long week and a half wait. That's what I get for shooting southpaw and living in the boonies.

BYW, Korbin (pykiller) has been great through the process. He never asked me to say, but, check him out for all things strings and his start in some full blown setups. Especially you Permian Basin and South Plains guys!!! Dude knows his stuff.

Neighbor just moved from Trinidad. Going by the pictures he showed me you shouldnt have any trouble finding them. They are everyhwere he said. He has two big dogs that were to keep bears off their property. He is a pumper and he saw 16 bears in one day just checking his route. Said that wasn't a normal day by any stretch but there are alot of bears up there. Ive told him to check this site out I will ask him if he's joined and give his two cents.

Edited to add he never hunted bears but hunts elk every year.
