    Dog Resort/Boarding - Spring/Woodlands/Conroe

I am looking for the best place to leave my little buddy for close to 2 weeks.

Looking for a place that has private room, possible web cam to check in on him and one that will offer extra services (walking, play time etc.).

My little buddy is a member of my family so I want to make sure I leave him in the best of hands while we are away.

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure what is close to you, but we leave ours at Camp Bow Wow here in San Antonio. I know they have locations all across the country.

If I could give them 6 stars I would. That place and the people that work there are incredible. Great outfit from top to bottom.

It will get a little expensive after a few days, but the dogs get to play with others all day, so they're not cooped up like a boarding facility at a vets office.

Prior to boarding/leaving your dog, he/she will have to pass a "interview". This ensures that they aren't aggressive towards other dogs or the counselors.

If you are willing to make the drive, bayside bed and biscut is hands down the best place for dogs. If they are boarding and you chose the chose the group play for the day, they typically have the dogs outside at about 7 and out till about 5 or 6. They put them up for about an hour and a half around lunch time for rest. They have a good amount of dogs but have two to three times more employees than camp bow bow. They also put in splash pads and have a couple of small pools for the dogs to cool down in. If we send our gsp for the day he comes home completely worn out.

I would be careful with bow wow. I'm not sure if they are all the same, but we had two very bad experiences with the one in league city. Our gsp was attacked two different times by random dogs. It was clear due to the webcams that it was unprovoked both times and was caused by overcrowding and not enough workers. The second time our dog required getting stitches on several different spots on his face, ear, and inside his mouth. Bow wow completely turned their head even after admitting this could have been prevented if they had more workers.

I know it is a good drive for you but I highly recommend bayside in league city. There are several pointers there as well as labs that tend to hang out together and the workers will actually play fetch with them until they are worn out.

There is this place in Tomball. My folks left their lab there last year and said it was a great place. People were friendly and they take the dogs out a couple times a day to play. You have several options for room types. It's probably not a fancy as other places, but have heard nothing but good things about this one from several people.

I'm sorry to hear that about your GSP getting attacked by other dogs. I agree with what you are saying about the lack of "counselors" on busy days. There will be 25-30 dogs in a play area with just one person in there with them.

Thanks for the recommendations. I don't mind driving if its a good place and not really worried about the expense.

I will be making the rounds in the next few days to look at the locations that was mentioned.

Coup, I will be headed that way around lunch to check that one out as well.

We have been using Rover Oaks in Katy for 10 years with no issues. They have a private room, TV with Animal Planet and get play times and potty breaks. I think personally they play with the dogs a lot more than they actually charge you for.

It is not cheap though. It runs us about $70 a day when we leave her there, but it is worth it as my wife has piece of mind her baby is taken care of since we have no children.
