    Corn Field

Was wondering if anyone planted corn for a fall food plot. I've seen on TV where they'll let it basically die then shred in fall, just a thought

Yes it would work. Corn is a thirsty plant and would be hard to grow in Texas heat in a small plot that wasn't irritated.

Several better food sources that are more heat tolerant, and less water dependent, in my opinion.

I have a hard time growing corn during prime season. Once it gets ready my deer clean me out. I don't think a fall corn plot will work in east texas in my experience. I go with peas. It works real well for me.

We plant soybeans on our irrigated ground around the first of August after corn harvest. During the fall I've counted at least 100 deer in the fields all at once. This is around the Wharton, Jackson county line. Also have planted wheat and is was a good attractant as well, but nothing like the soybeans.
