    Rancher electric shift problems

I have a 2005 Honda Rancher that will not shift. The neutral flashes 5 times. It has done this before about two years ago and I changed the angle switch and that fixed the problem. So when it started doing it again just the other day I put a new angle switch in it but this didn't fix it. Has anyone had this problem, if so how did you fix it. Thanks Danny.

Does it click when you try to shift? If so, it's not the electric shifter but rather the transmission. Might be able to get it to shift again by rocking it or manually shifting - there is a manual shift shaft on the left side. If it doesn't click it is the electric shift motor or the switch.

Never thought about that. I'll check the battery tomorrow.

My 2001 Foreman has done the same and it was the battery.

I had a foreman do this, there was a plug right under the front rack that ran to the shifter. It got water in it and a little electric grease fixed the problem

Thanks for all of the info. I'm going to work on it this afternoon. I'll update on what I find.
