    new rifle build, need suggestions

Ok I have a 6.5 Lapua being built, I would like to try and shoot out to 1000 yards, I need suggestions on what would be the best optics for this rifle, thanks.

Going hog hunting with a buddy in the morning, hopefully will have a chance to take a 750 yard poke over a feeder with his 6.5x47. It's on a Remington 700 with a Huskemaw 5-20 Blue Diamond scope. Seems to work good, but there's a bunch of others that would work equally well.

My rifle is built on a Defiance action with a Craggar barrel, going with a McMillan stock, still trying to figure out which scope to go with, Night Force, Leopold, Zeis, Smidt and Bender ?

I'm running a vortex viper pa I bought 3 years ago on my 260 and can poke out to 1000 easily. It's a 6.5-20z50 30mm. Look at the vortex line plus arrow smith on here is a dealer I believe. Also some one has a razor hd for sale in the classifieds that would be top of the line.

With the aforementioned scopes listed, I'm guessing budget is $1000 - $3000

Personally I'd go with a LEU Mk4 4.5-14x50 on the low end and skies the limit on higher end glass. Variable power magnification of 5-25 seems to be what most are using to shoot long range

Here a good read to familiarize yourself with scope brands and options http://precisionrifleblog.com/2014/0...sults-summary/

FWIW - I'm in the same boat as my custom 6.5x47L will be ready in 2-3 weeks

For 1000 yards you need 28 moa up from 100 yard zero. With 20 moa base, nearly any scope can do that if it's 30mm or 34 mm tube. If your planning on doing PRS, the Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5x27 FFP seems to be preferred equipment. They are a chunk and weigh 48 oz but feel more like 5 lbs. If your just shooting off of a bench and not shooting competition, then any of the ones you listed around 32 power make a better target scope.

IMHO Schmidt and Bender hands down if money is no object.
Like daylight at dusk and unparalleled clarity esp over 500 yds.
