For an out of the box rifle it's hard to beat the way a savage shoots

Get a savage long range hunter. I topped mine with a 6.5x20x50 Leupold and shoot out to 1000 yards with no problem. Worked up a load for it and it's shooting way better than I can. It loves the ELD-X's so we will see how they do this hunting season

My Ruger American Predator shoots lights out. One of my favorite guns I've ever owned, and it's the cheapest I've ever owned as well!

Yup it's my go to gun now. I love mine it's he cheapest rifle I own and one of the most accurate. I'm confidant out to 700 with mine off the bipod.

Just outside your budget but it's a great gun. Super accurate and is a nice blend of walking around weight and heavy barrel/bench shooting.

I shoot a 6.5CM Accuracy International for comp's but my hunting rifle is a Sako 6.5CM and a Sako 270WSM

If I was on a budget and getting a rifle the Tikka T3 in 6.5 from Alex at Euro would get my vote.

Check out the Savage model 10T it is made exclusively for cabelas, and doesnt show up on the savage website. I used to have the savage 12LRP, but it was to heavy for what i was wanting.
