Back Problems!! Ugh. Who else deals with it?

So I thru my lower back out again this week being my sons bucking bull. Wonderful pain, can't stand up straight and can't sit for long or it gets worse. I'm back at the chiropractic guy getting popped back in this am. If I'd stay on my stretch and muscle strength plan like the cute little therapy girl I had for awhile taught me I'd be good, sure wish insurance would've paid for that longer. Lol. I had a bad wreck when I was a kid and screwed up my back and now getting to deal with it. I'm still young, 39. Sucks. Anyone have a good excerise routine they do to strengthen your back at home?

Yeah, I dealt with that a couple of weeks ago and I am finally back to normal. I just rested it and then started walking again after I felt it was good. I had to give up on the pushup challenge because it was putting too much of a strain on my back and may have actually caused it because of all my frontal flab. I'm 57 and usually don't have back problems but I was really hurting.

I've been having lower back pain for the last 3 weeks. Was having back spasms pretty bad last week. If I stooped over just right, it would almost take me to my knees. Bought a heating pad this past weekend and that has really been helping. When I've been sitting down at work or driving, I have been putting a pillow behind my lower back.

I used the Icy Hot XL patches on my back for a few days and that helped. My wife has a TINS unit but couldn't find it while I was having problems. She finally found it the other day, after I didn't need it.

Ive had a bad back since I was 16. Ive had mine slide out where I literally couldnt stand up straight if I tried. The latest for me is my L5 is bulged out and causing a lot of sciatic nerve pain. Chiropractor works well for me on everything except this nerve pain. I have to go in and get that fixed in 2 weeks. I know your pain, it sucks. And im 10 years younger then you...

Give your back rest, lots of it. Then strengthen your core.

keeping your core in shape will help keep the back issues at bay.

Had a bad back since I was 16 (overdid it on power cleans and really screwed one up).

I use to have these horrifyingly bad sciatica episodes where I could barely walk for about 3 days, and it continued to hurt for a week after. These occurred once every few months.

I started foam rolling about 3 years ago and haven't had one since. Don't know if that's the ticket for you, but it's cheap to try it!

                    Agreed!

Also keep your hamstrings tight. stretch them as well along with building your core.

Core strength, stay hydrated, and keep the extra pounds off. Also watch out for sudden movements. I had to give up sports since the twisting and turning was too much.

My lower back kills me a couple times a year.

This is exactly what the therapist told me. I just need to do what she told me.

Went to the doc last November. Long story short, I have two fractures in the L6 that never healed from a Marine Corps injury. They want to put two pins and pull my L6 out while pushing my degraded disc back in. Doc said the success rate is very high and if you gonna get back surgery, this is the one. He'll operate once my symptoms get worse.

Diagnosed with a grade 4 spondylolithesis several years ago. But if I stay at a good weight and do core exercises it hardly bothers me. But if I don't, it's a constant pain and I referee with everything in my daily life
