    Mule Deer at Feeder?

You guys that hunt where there are Mule Deer do you have any luck getting bucks into the feeder pen? I just got on a lease near Matador and we are covered up with Mule Deer. The guys on the lease say that the bucks never come to corn but the does eat it up. What say the green screen.

As mentioned above, alfalfa is key. I would recommend building some hay feeders vs. throwing on the ground. The smell of fresh alfalfa is hard for them to resist. I put some fresh hay at a feeder pen 2 weeks ago after not having done so all summer and that night, pulled in 3 Mule deer bucks. That was the first Muley bucks on that feeder all summer. Good luck to you!

No answer to your question...but I'm from Lubbock originally and there are a LOT of Mulies and some monsters in the Matador area. Go get you one Brother!

Sweet feed and alfalfa .. If you have a lot of whitetail bucks that hang around your feeders they can be more dominant over the mule deer bucks . I hunted in west Texas for a couple years and they would come to corn feeders there but there were not many whitetail in that area ..

The bucks came to my feeder every single day rain or shine.... till the corn was gone. Haven't been at mule deer for a couple years. Maybe this year.

Protein, alfalfa and water. At least down in Mexico that is their recipe

Yes they go to feeders. Now getting them to show up during the daytime during a nine day season is not easy. Same buck.
