    Drilling through granite

I need to drill a hole in the granite counter top for a drinking water filter. It'll be a one time job. The hole will be about 1" or 1-1/2" wide.
What's the bit for the job, a type of hole saw bit?
    Thanks

Go to home depot and tell them you need a diamond hole saw. They are a little pricey though.

I'd call a local granite installer and ask them. They should be able to help.

You can buy diamond holes saw bits at Home Depot. They are not the commercial grade but will drill 1-2 holes in 1" granite before they wear out.

X2 easier to let a professional, than do something that would cause your granite to break.

Faucet holes are 1 3/8", and I believe 1" for fresh water dispenser.

We use a angle grinder with a core bit for the appropriate size.

The one I used came off eBay for like $16. It cuts a 1-3/8" hole

                        Lenox was the brand
