    TYHP Youth Hunts

If anyone needs a place to take a youth on a hunt take a look at the Texas Youth Hunting Program. They are an orginization that puts hunts together for the youth of our state. They have over 200 donated hunts and they are in need of more youth hunters. My son just hunted at the N&K Ranch outside of San Angelo and had a great time. This is an awsome program and it is very affordable.

I guess we're out. They require hunters education regardless of age and we won't be able to get that completed for hunting this year. My boys are 6 and 8, so they will have to take the course again in a few years to officially be certified.

They have changed it to 9 years old now. If you know anyone else please pass on this information. THYP has actually cancelled hunts due to lack of hunters.

Most hunts are doe and spike. There are a few that are cull bucks. They also have exotic, hogs, varmits, dove, and ducks.

I hunted with the TYHP for a number of years! Got to Hunt all over the state for next to nothin! when i went it was mostly does and spikes, with the occasional cull buck thrown in there. However certain places allowed for exotics to be taken! But aside from deer, they have varmint, hogs, dove, waterfowl, bowhunts...etc! GREAT program to get kids involved in huntin, and its super cheap! I am now too old to hunt through TYHP as I'm 19, so to stay involved I sent in my application for a volunteer to now go help run these hunts on the weekends by guiding, cooking, set up! etc! well worth the time!
