She almost looks proud of herself!

I have always wondered why when a copperhead bites a 50 lb dog (a lot bigger in this case) it's just a Benadryl and they are good to go in a day or so but when people 5 times that size is bitten it is a couple days in the hospital and a $30K bill?

Had a little rat terrier get bit once and his head swole so bad I thought I would have to put a counter weight on his hiney to keep his back feet on the ground. Hope Ruby does alright !

My mom got bit on the foot by a copperhead about 10 years ago at the lease. Never went to the doctor but said it felt like a red hot pokers was on her foot for a couple of days.

My brother got bit on the foot by a copperhead and almost dies. Doctors put him into a coma to slow it down until they could figure it out. Turns out he is diabetic and that makes the venom much worse on the body.

Different immune systems. They can fight it off alot better than people. Just depends on the person too though. Severity of the bite and the location of the bite play a part in all living things. Some folks have a worse reaction to snake bite treatment as they do the bite itself. Some people can go into anaphylactic shock or experience other complications if antivinin is given.
