    Competitive recurve

Watching archery in the current Olympics has really peaked my interest in the competitive recurve. Where and how would one get started in shooting this type of archery. I have shot a compound for the last 15 years but not competitively. Ideally I would like to try to shoot a loaded recurve fist to see how it is before i even star to invest in it. ANY help or pointing me in the right direction would be great!

consult your local archery club and start off shooting traditional , stop by, visit, and ask questions as they will gladly help you

$250-300 for a used trad bow would be great for a beginner. Test drive several bows first to see if you feel more comfortable shooting a recurve or longbow.

The Bows used by Brady Ellison and the Olympic shooters are pushing $2,000. The Riser and limbs are sold separately, and can cost as much as $1000 for each. A dozen x10 arrows cost around $450

IMO, traditional archery is 99% mental and will humble the best compound shooters in the world

Find an ILF riser and a good set of limbs.
