Look up Magnolia from Best Buy. If there is one in your area they will do and in home consult and give you recommendations.

We didn't mess with a hard wired sound system and put in sonos speakers. It's all run through your wifi and an app on your phone/iPod and super simple to just put up yourself. Just plug in the speakers and connect to wifi. Sounds just as good as any professionally installed system but much easier to work

My friend did Sonos as mentioned above and I am amazed at how easily and flexible it was to do, and cost effective. He has a massive house with multiple indoor and outdoor zones all controlled by the phone.

I used Magnolia for cabling. They did a good job. Look up Martin Logan's for speakers.

So Sonos is just putting speakers in desired rooms and using the app?

Yes, but I think that the speakers need to be hard wired. I checked out an older sonos system this weekend my brother gave my dad, and it sounded amazing. And I am kind of a snob when it comes to sound. It was really nice how you can use the sonos app to change the music playlist and volume. And you can used different apps at the same time. Not just theirs. He had Iheart and something else playing. I can do the same with my Iphone via my laptop and apple wifi, but my laptop has to be up and running.

                  Hope this helps.

Does the smaller one have to be hard wired also?

They do have wireless, wifi only systems. Not sure if those work for a home theatre system though.
