    Tree ID

Leaves are delicate and not glossy so I don't believe it's a live oak. The bark looks similar to an elm tree but the leaf doesn't have sawtooth edges. Any ideas?

    Might be a live oak.

I had a live oak at our last house, unless the leaves vary from one tree to the other I don't think it is, somebody prove me wrong?

That's a really good guess, closest thing I've seen, still not completely convinced but that could be it

Ash trees have compound leaves which this doesn't have. Is the under side of the leaves hairy/fuzzy?

I'm 90% sure it is fuzzy, I'll check tomorrow for sure. What are you thinking?

I want to guess black gum. But I'd need closer pics of the leaves and a pic of the whole tree

If the leaves were fuzzy underneath I would look towards gum bumelia but that is not generally planted in urban areas and is mostly found in bottom lands.

Interesting. Does that type of tree always have fruit or berries? The tree in my yard doesn't have anything like that.

I'll post more pics tomorrow of the whole tree

It doesn't always have fruit but after a closer look it can't be gum bumelia.

I was thinking Bumelia as well...
