Ditto this for my copperhead bite back in '09. Crutches for two weeks. I got hit on the top of my ankle.

        Prayers up for her!
I would find a Dr. that specializes in snake bites.

I was bitten on the heal a few years ago. Had pain and swelling for about two days and walked with a cane. Had pain during urination for about two more days then I was fine. The snake was full grown one and I was about 200 lbs at the time. The only thing they did for me was give me an IV and to keep me hydrated.

This. Just like some people are not able to even take a wasp sting.
My GF is one of those and we carry an epinephrine injection every time we go to the lease. One wasp or bee sting could kill her without the injection immediately.

If I had to guess, it's the benadryl. I don't know how much she is taking, but it will make you twitch and hallucinate, just like she is. Different tolerance levels for everybody, but I've seen several people get messed up on benadryl.

Ask the doc about side effects from the antibiotics as well. It is uncommon but certain antibiotics can cause severe reactions in some people. When one of my sons was very little he would hallucinate if given certain antibiotics, including that pink liquid stuff often given to kids (can't remember the name) .

Copperhead got me on my foot when I was 12 or 13. Went to the doctor, got a few shots and didn't have any problems after that other than a sore foot for a few days.

Something isn't right with what you have described and I would take her to a Neurologist ASAP.

It is the benadryl (sp?) had a niece that went through the same issues and she can't take the stuff now.

I got bit by a copperhead in 1995, had a pretty bad delayed reaction to the antivenom and after the dust settled several hours later I was given a huge shot of benadryl in my IV. It wired me to the max. It was probably a combination of everything that had taken place that evening, but I do remember the benadryl not being a very pleasant experience.
