austin hotel help

I need some info on a safe place to stay close to the Travis county expo we usually stay in a Hampton inn but not sure where the nicer areas of Austin are at going to take my sons to compete at the NAGA tournament.......thanks

There is a hampton in Round Rock that is about 20-25 min from the expo if you are ok paying the tolls. It is at 45/35... with a few restaurants around it.

Before I moved to RR permanently. I spent 2 weeks there.

I would look near 71/183 crossing...lots of hotels there and you can just hop on 183 and go a few minutes down the road to the expo center

We have a brand new Best Western that just opened here in Pflugerville off East Pecan and Toll 130.

If you go towards the center of town you'll get higher rates and more traffic...here it would be easy on 183 and easy off

Bringing wife and kids so looking for a place that is in a safe neighborhood I'm a Leo so I'm always armed but still I don't wanna end up in a place like I work at

We always stay at the Orangewood Suites. It is not far from the expo center. There are two of them and you want the one on the north end of town. They have a decent kitchenette with a full size fridge and stove if you want to take your own food. Also there are some eating places close by as well. I like them because they are more like a small apartment compared to a motel room and they have always been clean and we have never had any problems there.

We go the the LSRU every year as well. It is the best car show in the country. If I remember right I saw a thread here or on some other forum you did of a roadster you are building. It is cool. I have a 33 Plymouth coupe. Sorry back to the original topic.
