Recessed Lighting

The kind I bought for our kitchen was the whole kit. I bought a hole saw for the right diameter. Then the light slips up through the bottom and "clamps" itself in. I chose to wire it from the attic after I got them in because it was winter and I had a good space to work in.
I had 10 done in about 4 hours and most of that time was measuring and marking where to put them.Last edited by be12hunt; 08-03-2016, 03:47 PM.

They are the utilitech brand with the built in trim ring. Its removable and paintable. Have had them for over a year with no issues. They don't work well with dimmers, even the LED compatible dimmers.. They will flicker and give you a light show so I removed the dimmers after trying several different brands. Nothing like rolling a cart up to check out with 40 boxes of light bulbs and paying over $1k for them. I guess it'll pay for it's self one day.
See I guess that's what I am confused on too. Looks like you can buy just the bulb and covers seperate, or buy a complete unit like you posted??
I have 10 on one switch and they dim with no problem. I could see if you get too few on one switch then it can't reduce the voltage enough.

I bought four of these LEDs and installed them in recessed cans. Two of them have already burned out and it's only been 10 months.
