music software 4 computer - recommendation?

I'm getting a new laptop up and running, and I just found out that MusicMatch is no longer available. Bummer! I want to avoid having to use Windows Media Player to rip my CD's to the comp, so I need to buy a new program.

    Anyone got a recommendation?

Itunes seems like a huge program, and I'm already worried about the new computer being sluggish. Maybe I need to clean install Vista to speed things up.

          I'll give Itunes a try.

          Thanks.

I HATE Itunes. My kids have to have it for their Ipods. I have to go to Task Manager and shut down all of its crap everytime I want to do anything. I bogs things down bigtime.

                OK what are the differences?

I have been using Window Media Player just because I didn't know any better. The biggest complaint I have with Windows is that a lot of the time the artist and song names show up as "unknown" Will Itunes help this?

WMP will work just fine for what you want to do with it, and no need to install ITunes. The constant update feature on my wife's desktop drives me crazy everytime i see that stupid "Update ITunes now!"
