    Night Vision Experiment

So my boss gave me an ATN night vision scope to help with thinning out the hog population here at the ranch. It's an ok scope but it wasn't giving me the distance I wanted at night so I put it on the shelf. Yesterday I was going through some of my old army junk and found IR Chem lights. LIGHTBULB! Using the Chem lights I'm hoping to backlight the feeder to give me the stand off I want. So tonight I've hung the IR Chem lights on two legs of the feeder and one in the center and we'll see what happens. If it works I'm putting a call into supply and gone make it a regular thing.

What kind of distance are you looking for? I had an ATN and was able to see about 90yards.

Buy yourself a 12volt ir light off ebay for 12/15 bucks, hook up a feeder battery to it, shine on target area, and get to work. Lights it up like a runway. And the hogs can't see it !

ATN has an IR light that will illuminate an easy 300 yards.

I believe sniper hog lights make a bad *** ir light that you can attach to your scope or rifle. May check with them.

Crazy Cart 48-LED CCTV Ir Infrared Night Vision Illuminator https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0067S8IZ8..._KbvOxbNTZ755R with a 12v remote works great. How do you hook this particular Ir illuminator to a power source?

Good luck with this experiment but I expect you will be disappointed with the results of an old glow stick.

Most of these people don't know how crappy it is until they get a good thermal in their hands...ask me how I know

I don’t doubt it, but thermal is too rich for my blood
