    A/c duct size

What size ducts do I need for a 170 sq ft room. Would 2 6" ducts be adequate. That saying that I have plenty of tonnage in the a/c unit. It is going to be an enclosure of the attic with proper insulation.

may be noisy, but that really depends on cfm through the duct. a bit hard to answer the question properly without the entire picture of equipment and demand.

There are 2 units in the attic above it. I thought about running one register off each plum. Never no when one is running and the other is not.

I did 105sqft in the attic and used one 8" supply and one 10" return ducts.

I would never recommend having two separate units serving the same zone. Pick one unit and use it exclusively. That being said, you need to evaluate the exposure of the room relative to the other zones served by the units to see which load profile the room best matches up with. Additionally, you need to make sure you have the extra capacity on your unit to serve this space if it is a build-out.

If it is an existing room that just never had air directly served to it, then you should be fine using the existing units.

As far a duct size goes, I would use an 8" supply and a 8" return

Two six or one eight would be proper for that space.

2x4 wall batting insulation with three layers of 3/4" foam board will be adequate. Last layer of foam use the one with foil facing the attic space.
