    Cheap backup lower feeder units

I am setting up a few backup feeders that won't be used as primary hunting locations so looking for a couple cheap but reliable lower units.

What does the green screen say?

ForEverlast is a site sponsor and I love their 12v lower units. Good solid product with a 5yr Warranty on the timer.

On Time Elite models--just cut hole in barrel, attache built-in funnel with self-tapping screws, put in the batteries, set it, and done. And, by the way, they have a lifetime warranty that they stand behind.

I have used that lifetime warranty twice on my Ontime unit. They do fix the problem but it may take 3 months to get it back. My board went out on mine last November. I took the unit off my feeder and sent it back to Ontime and did not receive it back until after season.Friendly people but they take forever to get them fixed.

i wish the statement on the warranty was true. I've tried contacting them a few times on mine. I got one email reply with really no help and then never contacted me back afterwards. I tried again a few months later thinking maybe they were just super busy and still haven't heard back yet.

You said cheap and reliable so I am going to say the Moultrie quick attach feeder motors are pretty decent. While some of their other products are so-so, I've had really good luck with the Moultrie Pro feeder motors. A 6 volt battery feeding twice a day last for months and with a solar panel a lot longer than that. The Pro Feeder Kit's are nice because with a simple twist the motor comes off for easy transporting and storing. 44.99 to 49.99.

This is what I use on all my feeders now.... I build about 10 a month with this setup and customers love the option of taking the motor off during the off season.
