    Smoker build question

How big do I need to make the opening between my fire box and cooking chamber? Chamber is 18x45 and my fire box will be approximately 16x16x16 square. Also, any recommendations on pipe size? I'm thinking 4in pipe sticking up about 12 inches. Thanks in advance

Not sure of the answer you're looking for, but I'm thinking you might want that firebox a little wider since firewood comes 16". Granted the square build will help since you can put it in at and angle, but that my biggest complaint on my pit (which is admittedly a barrel, not square)...not enough room in the fire box.

Stick your measurements in here. Takes the guessing out.
